Will's RVANews Profile and Photo Articles

Photography is...well, what its name implies: Will Weaver of Richmond, Virginia, showcasing his photography.

From humble beginnings and toting around an old $50 point and shoot camera, Will immersed himself in the world of photography, teaching himself everything he knows about the art of photography. Honing his skills over the course of several years, Will "graduated" to professional digital SLRs and jumped into the wild social media world of Richmond - "RVA" - quickly becoming known for his landscapes and weather photography.

Will's work has appeared on local news websites such as RVANews and its affiliated community news websites such as Church Hill People's News and Downtown Short Pump; as well as specialty websites such as AARoads and the Virginia Highways Project. It has also been featured on WWBT-TV (NBC 12) and WTVR-TV (CBS 6) on several occasions. A panoramic shot of the downtown Richmond skyline shot from the Manchester Flood Wall was displayed inside Richmond International Airport for over a year and a half beginning in 2009.

One of Will's proudest achievements, a shot of the fountain at Church Hill's Libby Hill Park, has also garnered a great deal of attention in the community as an example of how wonderful Richmond can look during the holiday season. This shot was a finalist in the 12 12 Gallery's Richmond Juried Photography Exhibition in February 2012. Another shot of the famous Christmas House on Wistar Court was also featured on Yahoo!'s homepage in December 2010 in a gallery of tacky Christmas displays. Will has showcased his art in several art shows over the years, including the 49th annual Gallery at First UU, one of the longest running art shows in the Greater Richmond Region.

Will has used his art to give back to the community, raising money and contributing to groups such as Henrico CASA, the Autism Society of Central Virginia, the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Glen Allen, and the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond.

Nowadays, you can find Will anywhere in Richmond and beyond, capturing virtually anything and everything imaginable...or on the baseline of the Siegel Center, capturing the excitement and HAVOC of VCU basketball for RVANews.
